Butterscotch Toast

Today's recipe is...

Butterscotch Toast

1/4 cup softened butter or margarine
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
8 slices of bread, toasted
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans

Combine sugar and butter and mix until well blended. Spread each slice of toast with the butter mixture and sprinkle with nuts. Place slices on ungreased cookie sheet, buttered side up. Place under the broiler, about 6" from the heat, until top is bubbly and nuts are toasted. Cut slices in half diagonally and serve.

  1. My family would love this unique toast. I used to make a similar toast by buttering the bread and sprinkling cinnamon sugar on, then broiling it. Thanks for commenting on my blog, Cafe Lynnylu.
