4 Recipes For Your May Day Baskets!

On May Day (May 1st) it's tradition to leave a small basket filled with goodies, treats, and small treasures at the door step of someone you admire or care for.

The Amish Are Back!

...And they brought some tasty dinner ideas with them!  So what makes a main course recipe Amish?  (Keep in mind I am not an expert.)  From my experience, their recipes include simple ingredients that pack a wallop of punch when it comes to flavor and satisfaction.

Whether you try the Amish Baked Chicken or the Amish Chicken Casserole, you will find the Amish know how to fix chicken!  Both recipes are simple to prepare and even easier to enjoy.

If you finding yourself craving a warm and filling comfort food, try the Amish Chicken Noodle Soup.  Again, it features simple ingredients that come together to create a rich and hearty soup.

And...I didn't forget the steak lovers!  This Amish Steak recipe combines cream of mushroom soup with a meatloaf mixture to create a dinner entree that is sure to become a favorite and go-to recipe at your house.

The Amish Are Coming!

And they are bringing their desserts!  Who knew the Amish had so many lovely desserts?  I thought they preferred a simple lifestyle.  I guess you find pleasure in the little things...like Amish Apple Cake!

If you are not familiar with funnel cake, please go to your nearest county fair and find some...right now!  Okay maybe not right now, but this summer you really should try some.  Or make your own with our Amish Funnel Cake recipe!

I am not entirely sure what Shoo Fly Pie is, but it looks delicious so I will leave it at that.  If you get really brave and inspired and try our recipe, let me know how it turns out!

Now this is something I can sink my sweet tooth into...Amish Sour Cream Apple Pie.  Too rich?  I don't think so.  Just take a bite and let all that apple sweet goodness melt in your mouth!

Menu Ideas For Easter!

Easter is just days away - do you have your menu ready?  Are you expecting a crowd for Easter dinner?  Or just your household?  Either way, we have made it easy on you.  We provide some easy recipes for the holiday, and you provide the Ham!  Nice huh?

Macaroni Salad
You can't go wrong with a traditional Macaroni Salad and we have a recipe that is sure to please the most finicky eaters.  Keep it simple silly!  (That's what my grandma thought about Macaroni Salad anyway.)

Potatoes Anna
And just to give your Easter dinner a little flair, we include a Potatoes Anna dish (sometimes known as Pomme de Terre Anna) to wow your guests.  They will assume you slaved over dinner, and what they don't know won't hurt them!

Peanut Butter Brownies
Last but not least, we give you our Peanut Butter Brownies recipe for your dessert.  It, too, is a crowd-pleaser.  It's functional for little guests fingers and severely succulent and tasty for the older guests.  Add a little vanilla icecream if you really want to send Easter dinner over the top!
