Rice Krispie Chocolate Surprise

Today's recipe is an ooey gooey delicious treat! Be sure to try these and share a picture!

Rice Krispie Chocolate Surprise

1/4 c. margarine
1 pkg. (10 oz.) or 40 regular marshmallows
6 c. Rice Krispies
25 Hershey chocolate kisses
1 sm. container Kraft caramel topping

Put marshmallows and margarine in large microwavable mixing bowl. Heat on high power 2 minutes. Stir to combine. Heat on high power 1 1/2 to 2 minutes longer, stir until smooth. Add cereal and stir until well coated. Divide into 2 equal amounts. Using waxed paper, press 1 portion into the bottom of a buttered 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Place the unwrapped kisses in a microwavable container and heat on high for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. Stir. Be careful not to burn chocolate. Spread thin layer over Rice Krispies. Add thin layer of caramel over chocolate. Flatten and press remaining amount of Rice Krispies over top of chocolate and caramel. Cool then serve.

Macaroni Tuna and Green Pea Salad

Today's recipe makes a wonderful snack or light lunch. Keep in a covered container in the refrigerator for a quick treat.

Macaroni Tuna and Green Pea Salad

2 cups cooked and drained macaroni (rings, sm. shells, spirals, or elbow)
1 (6 ounces) can tuna in water, drained
Chopped onions
1 cup frozen peas

Mix all with enough Miracle Whip or mayonnaise to keep moist; salt, and pepper to taste. Best if made the night before.

Peach Custard Cake

Today's recipe will smell marvelous baking in your oven.

Peach Custard Cake

CRUST
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. soft butter

BATTER
1 lg. can peaches, sliced
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg
1 c. evaporated milk

Cut butter into flour and salt. Press into 9 inch square pan. Drain peaches, saving 1/2 cup of syrup. Arrange slices on top of crust. Sprinkle with mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Mix syrup, egg and milk. Pour over peaches. Bake 30 minutes more.

Green Chile Pork Stew

Today's recipe is perfect for a chilly and rainy day.

Green Chile Pork Stew

3 lbs. pork butt, cubed
3 lg. onions, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp. oregano, crumbled
1 c. green chilies, chopped
1 to 2 Jalapenos, deseeded & chopped (optional)
3 tbsp. flour
Water
Salt & pepper
Lard or olive oil to saute

Cut away as much fat as possible from the pork and cut into cubes. Brown meat in lard or olive oil. Remove from pan and sprinkle meat with the flour. Brown onions and garlic in frying pan until transparent, but not brown. Add meat, oregano, chilies to onion mixture and add water to cover. Simmer 2 to 3 hours. Add salt and pepper during last 1/2 hour. Cool and degrease stew. Serve rolled inside flour tortillas.
Serves 6.

Raisin Bread French Toast

Today's recipe is super easy and a delicious way to start the day.

Raisin Bread French Toast

2 eggs, beaten
1 cups orange juice
10 slices raisin bread
1 1/2 cup crushed graham crackers

Combine eggs and orange juice. Quickly dip bread into egg mixture then into graham cracker crumbs

Oatmeal Cookies

1 pkg. spice cake mix (2 layer)
2 1/2 c. uncooked rolled oats
2 eggs
3/4 c. cooking oil
1/2 c. milk
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts
1/4 c. dark brown sugar
Instructions
Combine all ingredients and mix well. Drop from a teaspoon onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes.


Banana Strawberry Sandwiches

2 tbsp soft butter or margarine
8 slices of bread
2 medium ripe bananas, mashed
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 cup strawberry preserves

Butter one side of each bread slice. in a small bowl, combine bananas with the lemon juice. Dpread about 1 tablespoon on buttered side of each of 4 bread slices. Then spread with preserves. Top with remaining bread slices and trim the crusts. Cut into quarters and serve.


German Chocolate Cherry Brownies

1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
1 can coconut and pecan frosting
1 can cherry pie filling
1 egg
4 tbsp. butter or oleo

Put all ingredients into medium size bowl. Mix well with wooden spoon, until evenly mixed. Pour into 9 x 13 inch pan and spread evenly. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. Remove from oven and pour 1 cup chocolate chips on top. Let stand for 5 minutes. Then spread chocolate chips evenly over brownies. Let cool completely before cutting.


Barbecue

1 lb. hamburger
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
1/2 tsp. prepared mustard
3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 c. ketchup
1/2 c. water

Brown hamburger and remove excess fat. Combine all ingredients and let simmer 3 or 4 minutes. Serve on buns.

Peanut Butter Cookies like Grandma's

Peanut butter cookies are one of my favorites! I will definitely be trying this recipe out this week. Be sure to let me know if you do too!

Peanut Butter Cookies like Grandma's

1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cup sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Cream margarine with peanut butter and sugars. Add egg and vanilla; beat until light and fluffy. Sift flour, salt and soda over creamed mixture; blend thoroughly. Form into 1-inch balls. Place on greased baking sheet. Press flat with a fork. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 12-15 minutes.

Makes 3 dozen cookies
