Mulling It Fall Over

I admit it. I am anxious for fall. It's probably my favorite season by far. I enjoy the blossoms in spring, swimming weather in summer and cozy fires in winter. But there is something about fall that is the perfect blend of apple cider, pumpkins, scarves and hay rides.

I love school carnivals in fall, harvest parties, carving pumpkins and corn mazes. But most of all, I delight in being able to start making some of those heavier dinner and desserts such as chili, potato soup in a bread bowl and carmel apples - you know, the dishes that are just too hot for summer? Anyway...

With that in mind, please indulge me as I share some of my favorite fall recipes:

Batter Fried Apples

Beef Stew

Peach Cobbler

Chili

7-Up Apple Dumplings

With August in full swing my cucumbers are coming ripe and ready to eat. And what's one of the most fun, tasty ways to eat cucumbers? Turn them into pickles! Pickling can be easy and the results quite rewarding, especially when it comes to enjoying your efforts in fall and winter, long after your garden and cucumber plants have gone.

There are many kinds of pickle recipes for all sorts of tastes. Some people like traditional dill, others prefer sweet pickles. And then there are always a few who must munch on the bread and butter variety. I've collected some of our free pickle themed recipes to get you started on your way to turning those cucumbers into tasty tart and sweet pickle delights.

I slipped in a relish recipe for you to relish too - enjoy!
